How to mine Etica (ETI)

The only thing you need to start mining Etica (ETI) is an ethereum public address. Moreover you will need to connect to Etica Network to assess your Eticas balance and move it.
This section assumes you have an etica address or you already know how to get an etica address. If you don't, check first part of the section how to connect.

Etica Miners

There is currently one main miner you can use to mine Etica (ETI). It is SoliditySha3 Miner upgraded by Dmitry, it works on linux and also on windows. The other one is Cosmic miner and run only on windows.
We recommend using SoliditySha3 as Cosmic Miner is currently not working to mine Etica (ETI).

SoliditySha3 ETI Miner Installation (Linux & Windows)

You can download the SoliditySha3 Miner from this link SoliditySha3 Miner by Dmitry (zip).
Or this link SoliditySha3 Miner by Dmitry (tar.gz)

Step One

Download zip file on SoliditySha3 Miner repository.

Step Two

Extract zip files (unzip) and go to SoliditySha3 folder

Step Six

There are only three fields that need to be changed. Replace the mining pool address by http://eticapool.com:8081 or http://eticapool.com:8080 if you have a low hashrate, fill address field with your ethereum PUBLIC key (not the private key!).

screenshot

Finally make sure the field MaxOverrideTarget has this exact value: 26959946667150639794667015087019630673637144422540572481103610249216 ^

screenshot

Once you have replaced these fields, save the file and you are ready to start mining Etica (ETI)

Step Seven

Launch the miner.
Right click on OxbtcPool.bat and then click on run as admin. A windows like this one should appear.
Your miner is now mining Eticas and you don't have to do anything else. The mining pool will automatically send you your Eticas on the address you provided.
Go on (http://eticapool.com:3000/accounts) to see your hashrate and the Eticas the mining pool wil send you.
Go on https://www.eticascan.org to see how much Etica you have on your address. You can also check your Etica balance on your Metamask wallet

screenshot

Step Eight

You can hold your Eticas or use it on any web app that is connected to Etica Blockchain like https://etica.io

Specific to Windows

On windows you might have an error about .NET Core 2.2 Runtime (v2.2.1) missing.
If your miner command line is stuck and there is an error message about this.
Go on this page to download and install .NET Core 2.2 Runtime (v2.2.1) After this install restart your miner and it should work

Cosmic ETI Miner Installation

Note: This miner is currently not optimal for Etica mining,

Issue details: Cosmic Miner sends shares of too low difficulty to the mining pool due to a hard coded parameter. The miner UI shows these low diff shares as accepted although the pool rejects most of them and only accepts the ones with high enough difficulty. To check your shares that were actually accepted by the pool go on your mining pool account: http://eticapool.com:3000/profile/your_address_here (replace with your address).
We will release a version of Cosmic Miner specific to Etica as soon as we find a way to solve the issue. In the meantime please try to use soliditysha3miner instead.

The Cosmic miner is windows only and has less hashrate than SoliditySha3 miner. But it is very user friendly, has a UI and doesn't require additional installs on windows.

Step One

Download Cosmic Miner zip file from repository.

Step Two

Extract zip files (unzip) and go to SoliditySha3 folder

How to get an Etica address:

The only thing you need to start mining EGAZ is an etica public address.

This is a tutorial on how to mine EGAZ on windows but lolMiner also works on linux and the steps should be the same.
EGAZ is the crypto currency that secures and enable to pay for transaction fees on Etica Blockchain

Step One

Download Egaz Miner zip file from repository.

Once you have replaced these fields, save the file and you are ready to start mining EGAZ

Step Six

Launch the miner.
Double click on miiner_etc file to launch the miner

To check your hashrate and shares:

Go on (http://egazpool.ddns.net/#/account/your_etica_address_here) to see your hashrate and your shares. The EGAZ mining pool wil send you EGAZ automtically

To check your balance:

Go on https://www.eticascan.org and enter your address to see how much Etica you have on your address.
Or you can also check your Etica balance on your Metamask wallet

How to mine EGAZ on HiveOS

Mining EGAZ is pretty straight forward. Most people have mined ETH or ETC before. EGAZ is an ETC Algo and will run on your standard miners:

Nvidia: Bzminer, lolminer, T-Rex, NBminer
AMD: TeamRedMiner, Bzimer, lolminer, NBminer

Step One

Create Wallet:

Choose a custom Coin like "EGAZ" and add your ETI Address and your Name:
If you need an EGAZ/ETI Wallet, please visit the first part of this wiki how to connect.

Step Two

Use the same configs as you have on windows:

Hash: I found you can chose either ETChash OR ETHash - both work
Pool URL: URL: http://egazpool.ddns.net
Port: 8008
Wallet: well, chose your wallet here
Pool: http://eticapool.com:8081
Extra config: -ethstratum=ETHPROXY (it also works without)

Step Three

On Bzminer, it looks like this:
